Aaron Donaldsson is a Young Warlock Boy who currently resides somewhere in Vesper. Throughout the Sleeping Giants campaign, he became very close with Lyla Hellebore.

Early life

Aaron was originally born and raised in Vesper, but was disowned by his parents when they believed him to possess magical powers.

Recent Events

Sleeping Giants

Aaron was formally introduced to Lyla Hellebore by Simon Range in Skyhammer. Aaron and Lyla quickly became tentative friends.

After Simon's disappearance from Skyhammer, Aaron took over his study and all of his remaining effects. Distraught about losing his only friend and mentor Simon, Aaron was found crying by Lyla. She gave him a pep-talk, instructing him to "make his mark" upon the world. He thanked her and took her words to heart.

After Lyla retured from her Skyhammer mission, Aaron found her and asked her for help with something urgent. She agreed, and followed him into a strange underground experimentation chamber below his study (formerly Simon's study). There, he showed her the Barlgura he had summoned and asked for her help on what to do, as he was not expecting the demon to stick around as long as it had. After escaping for a few hours to the Skyhammer library, Lyla returned to Aaron to help with his Barlgura issue. A wave of her hand later and the creature was banished from the material plane, back to where it came from. Before leaving Skyhammer for the foreseeable future, Lyla stopped by Aaron's abode to say goodbye and leave him with a gift. The gift was none other than a Wand of the War Mage +1. Aaron was ecstatic, and in return he let Lyla borrow a few books on the Nine Hells from his personal library.

After returning to Skyhammer several weeks later, Lyla stopped by Aaron's abode to say hello and ask for her gift back. The gift was none other than a Wand of the War Mage +1. Aaron was distraught, and while she was there Lyla discovered another 8 or so fiends that Aaron had summoned and was keeping locked up in the basement of his inherited house. Lyla scolds him and tells him to stop summoning demons so much.

After the party makes The Second Wish, to seal Hell away forever, they receive a vision of Aaron summoning a demon into the world:

A huge, six-legged creature is slithering through a portal when it slams shut on itself, slicing the creature clean in half. Aaron jumps back with a start, letting out a quick yell before silencing himself. He looks around, confused, then turns around to check on the rest of his collection. Much to his relief, each of the hundreds of magical cages that now line the walls of his huge basement still houses a living creature.

In the finale, Aaron is present when Lyla Hellebore is revived in her grove. It turns out, all of the demons and devils he was summoning was to make a gift for Lyla: The Wand of a Hundred Souls. This wand can be used to destroy the Artificial Arcane Controller that Acilia Macrinus has built underneath Kittiwake's Edge. Destroying the Controller will eliminate the antimagic field that permeates the town, and restore magic to its people. Aaron gives Lyla the gift, then accompanies her to the Controller to watch her destroy it.

After the Controller explodes and Lyla is re-resurrected, she is told by the Archfey that Aaron is alive and well. The Archfey then asks Lyla for one final favor: to watch over Aaron and be a good role model for him. Lyla accepts.

Marriage

Aaron was married to Lyla Hellebore in 519. In 520, after six months of marriage, they divorced after Lyla convinced High Priest Steingard to anull the union.
