The Third Wish
The Third Wish refers to the third wish made by the Risen during Sleeping Giants. It was preceded by The First Wish and The Second Wish.
Wish Wording
The wish's exact wording, when spoken by Elaina Nile, was:
"I wish the nation of Sulta Ixen was restored to its former glory."
Wish Effects
The effects of the wish were as follows:
You state your wish, and wait. Your minds are flooded with yet another vision. Deep underground, you see all five of yourselves, gathered near the Arcane Controller. The sternum of the dragon bones begins to glow, faintly at first but slowly getting brighter. As it grows, it spreads to the other bones in the room. Those bones then glow brighter and infect those beyond them. The sternum becomes so bright that it cannot be looked at directly. While all of the other bones follow suit, the cavern begins to rumble. You can do nothing but watch your still bodies, as the Arcane Controller erupts. Blue light shoots through the cavernous hallways, engulfing everyone stationed underground. Their screams don’t even penetrate the surface.
Directly above the Arcane Controller sits the Palace of Sulta Ixen. Still on high alert, it has several guards positioned outside of the vault. The sand and stones at their feet rumble, but don't give them enough notice. Blue light shoots out of countless cracks in the ground, followed by an enormous explosion. The palace itself, and anything in it, turns to ash immediately, and is throw into the surrounding air. The people in Sulta Ixen proper feel and hear the explosion, and many of them rush out to see what has happened.
Then your vision cuts. A tall, blue dragonborn stands on the outer walls of a bustling metropolis. It is Athier Khalid, standing amidst a line of other Trabem soldiers. Behind him, from the city's center, shoots the tall green beam of energy. Floating up and down the perimeter of the beam are countless wizards, each focusing and channeling the energy of the beam. A steady flow of creatures emerges from the green ray, of all shapes and sizes. Some are celestials, flapping their angelic wings to take flight. Others are fey, floating around like wisps on a breeze. A burst of flame erupts and from it emerges a fire elemental.
Athier stands determined, focused on the plains that are stretched out in front of him. They would normally be empty, with a smattering of trees here and there. But they are now covered with a vast army of fully armored soldiers. Each of the hundreds of battalions of soldiers is lead by a knight wearing jet-black armor and carrying the flag of Vesper. On both flanks of the massive army are columns and columns of sorcerers, easily a thousand of them. Standing atop a hill on the far end of the army are three men. Simon Rex, King of Vesper and leader of its people. Next to him is his most trusted advisor, Mitlargo Thistlehouse. And standing beside the two of them is Enil Nile, the Sorcerer King of Sulta Ixen.
The three men stand silently, waiting for the last of their troops to get into position. That’s when the three different-colored beams that form the center of the Trifecta cities, simply disappear. Immediately, Mitlargo's eyes widen and he turns to Enil. "Enil," he begins to say, but he is speaking to deaf ears. The Sorcerer King’s face is now one of determination, and his lips form a smile. He takes a few steps forward and then leaps into the air, taking flight. Mitlargo turns to King Simon, his face turning beet red.
"Sultans!" Enil yells in Draconic, his voice booming magically. All the sorcerers, surrounding the Vesperian army, turn to look at him. "For too long we have suffered under the heel of a foreign invader. Today, we take back what is rightfully ours. For Nileraxxemon!" Flames surround Enil, and blazing orbs of fire start to plummet to the ground from the sky.
Elsewhere, in the ethereal plane, you see a small cylindrical device with a tripod base that is stuck into the ground. It falters briefly, and then bursts into several pieces. Directly above it, not five feet, a pulsating orb of white light appears. It remains stationary at first, but then begins to accelerate. Before long, it reaches such a tremendous speed that it thins out into a white ray, surrounded by energy. It shoots through the Ethereal Plane, bursting into the Material Plane underground, where there was once an enormous underground cavern. Simultaneously, dozens of other identical beams break through the rubble and all converge at a single point. They all crash together, filling the cracks between the rubble with white light. An explosion of magic erupts, expanding quickly and phasing through the ground itself.
On the surface at the base of Stir Peak, the explosion phases through the ground, picking up any living beings and carrying them with it. The magic spreads for several miles in a radius around Stir Peak, and then slows to a crawl. All of the creatures that were picked up are tossed out of its radius, and a glistening white, translucent shell forms a dome over the area. What was once Stir Peak is now an enormous white orb of magical energy.
After Effects
Because the Risen were stationed next to the Arcane Controller when it erupted, they were all killed. Each was subsequently revived, gaining them their moniker of "Risen".
